Road Homicide & Law 2025: The Urgency of Prevention

Since July 2025, French legislation has changed. The creation of the offense of Road Homicide criminalizes accidents causing bodily injury or death with penalties of up to 10 years in prison .

Beware of the critical 9-point threshold: The new law penalizes the combination of alcohol and drugs with an automatic deduction of 9 points. For a young driver, this means immediate license cancellation.

Toda Pharma's response: Our tests are not mere accessories. They are measuring tools calibrated to the legal threshold of 15 ng/mL (2016 decree), allowing you to verify your actual negative result before getting behind the wheel and risking your legal future.

DIE HÄUFIGSTEN FRAGEN

What exactly are the 5 drugs detected?

The Drugdiag Saliva Innovation 5+ test allows for the simultaneous screening of the 5 most commonly used drug classes:

1. Cannabis (THC)
2. Cocaine (COC)
3. Opiates (Heroin, Morphine)
4. Amphetamines (AMP)
5. Methamphetamines (MET) including Ecstasy/MDMA.

How long does the drug remain detectable?

The saliva test targets recent consumption, which corresponds to the risk window for driving:

Cannabis: From a few minutes after use up to 6-10 hours (occasional) or 24 hours (regular).
Cocaine / Opiates: Up to 24 to 48 hours.
Amphetamines: Up to 40 hours.

For detection over several days or weeks, urine tests are preferred.

I consume legal CBD, will I test positive?

High Risk. The test targets THC, not CBD. However, most CBD products contain trace amounts of THC (<0.3%). These traces can accumulate and exceed the 15 ng/mL threshold. This is what the police will detect. Our test allows you to check if you have eliminated these traces before driving.

Are HHC and its derivatives detected?

YES. Since 2023, HHC has been classified as a narcotic. Its molecular structure, similar to THC, triggers a positive result on our tests and those of law enforcement. Driving under the influence of HHC exposes you to the same criminal penalties (road homicide) as driving under the influence of regular cannabis.

Is this exactly the same test as the Police/Gendarmerie test?

We use the same technology (Immunochromatography) and we align our calibrations with the official thresholds of the Decree of December 13, 2016 for the 5 drug families .

Whether it's for Cannabis (15 ng/mL), Cocaine (10 ng/mL), Opiates, Amphetamines, or Methamphetamines, our tests react at the same concentration levels as those used by the Gendarmerie. It's a highly accurate professional prevention tool.
