Cannabis urine test with 3 thresholds

Drugdiag® 3THC: cannabis urine test with 3 thresholds

The Drugdiag® 3THC cannabis urine test is a professional device designed by the French laboratory Toda Pharma, the leader in rapid diagnostic tests. Its unique feature is detecting cannabis at 3 sensitivity levels in a single analysis: 20 ng/mL, 50 ng/mL, and 150 ng/mL.

This dip urine test allows for a more precise assessment of the level of THC-COOH exposure, the main urinary metabolite of cannabis. It is especially suitable for medical monitoring, license recovery, self-testing, and prevention efforts in the workplace.

Thanks to its triple reading, the Drugdiag® 3THC helps distinguish between low, standard, or high presence of cannabis metabolites in urine, with a quick and easy-to-interpret result according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

3 thresholds: 20, 50, and 150 ng/mL
Urinary detection of THC-COOH
Ideal for monitoring, licenses, and self-testing

Detected substance and thresholds

The Drugdiag® 3THC test detects THC-COOH, the main cannabis metabolite eliminated in urine. The triple reading provides a more precise indication than a classic single-threshold urinary cannabis test.

20 ng/mL
High sensitivity: detection of low urinary traces of THC-COOH, useful at the end of elimination or for very detailed monitoring.
Low threshold
50 ng/mL
Standard threshold: commonly used threshold for urinary cannabis screening.
Reference
150 ng/mL
High concentration: possible indication of heavier, regular, or chronic use.
High threshold

This urine test does not directly detect active Δ9-THC in saliva. It detects THC-COOH, the urinary metabolite of cannabis, which allows for a longer detection window.

Warning: CBD and possible positive result

Pure CBD is not the target of the test. However, some full-spectrum CBD products may contain residual traces of THC.

In case of repeated consumption of flowers, resins, or CBD oils containing residual THC, THC can be metabolized into THC-COOH and cause a positive urine result.

Why use a 3-threshold test?

License recovery

Drugdiag® 3THC is especially useful for monitoring the progressive elimination of THC-COOH before a medical visit, medical commission, or official analysis. The three thresholds allow observation of a decrease in detection level over time.

Professional use

Companies, healthcare professionals, and prevention actors can use this test to have a more precise tool than a single-threshold test, respecting applicable internal frameworks and result confidentiality.

Medical monitoring and self-control

The test can support cessation monitoring, prevention efforts, or rigorous self-monitoring. It distinguishes a low trace from a higher concentration of urinary cannabis metabolites.

Key features of Drugdiag® 3THC

  • Triple reading: 20, 50, and 150 ng/mL in a single analysis.
  • Detailed analysis: progressive monitoring of THC-COOH elimination in urine.
  • Wide detection window: useful for detecting past consumption.
  • Practical format: dip urine test, simple and quick to use.
  • French manufacturer: device from the Drugdiag® range by the Toda Pharma laboratory.
  • Professional quality: in vitro diagnostic medical device with CE marking and ISO 13485 quality environment.
  • Used by the French Armed Forces: UAF label associated with the relevant devices from the Toda Pharma range.

Interpretation of the 3 thresholds

Thresholds allow assessment of the THC-COOH detection level. They alone do not precisely date consumption but provide a useful indication of urinary exposure level.

20 ng/mL
Low traces: may indicate past use, end of elimination, or residual presence near the low threshold.
1 to 7 days*
50 ng/mL
Standard threshold: indication compatible with a more significant urinary presence of cannabis metabolites.
1 to 15 days*
150 ng/mL
High concentration: may be compatible with recent, heavy, regular, or chronic use.
1 to 30 days*

*Durations are indicative and vary greatly depending on metabolism, consumption frequency, product concentration, BMI, hydration, and other individual factors.

Negative result

A negative result means the concerned threshold is not reached. Depending on the three strips, a graduated indication of THC-COOH elimination can be obtained.

Positive result at 20 ng/mL only

This may indicate a low presence of THC-COOH, often compatible with the end of elimination. Interpretation should remain cautious and consider the context.

Positive result at 50 or 150 ng/mL

The higher the positive threshold, the higher the detected urinary concentration. For any official, medical, or disputed procedure, laboratory confirmation is still recommended.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Drugdiag® 3THC test detect?

It detects THC-COOH, the main urinary metabolite of cannabis, at three different thresholds: 20 ng/mL, 50 ng/mL, and 150 ng/mL.

What is the difference with a classic THC urine test?

A standard test usually works with a single threshold. The Drugdiag® 3THC allows graduated reading thanks to three thresholds, which helps track the elimination progress.

Is this test suitable for license recovery?

Yes. It is particularly useful for self-monitoring before a medical visit or official analysis, as it allows more precise tracking of residual THC-COOH presence.

Can CBD cause this test to be positive?

Yes, in some cases. Pure CBD is not the target of the test, but CBD products containing residual THC can cause a positive urine result after metabolization into THC-COOH.

How long does cannabis remain detectable in urine?

The duration varies depending on the profile. It can range from a few days for occasional use to several weeks in case of regular or chronic use. The thresholds 20, 50, and 150 ng/mL provide a more graduated indication.

Does a positive result have definitive legal value?

No. A rapid test provides a preliminary result. For any official, medical, or disputed procedure, confirmation by laboratory analytical method is recommended.

Expert FAQ: Prevention & Risks

How long do drugs remain detectable with this urine test?

The detection time varies depending on the substance. Cannabis (THC) remains detectable in urine for between 3 and 30 days, depending on your habits. Cocaine, amphetamines, and opiates can be detected for 2 to 5 days. Buying a multi-drug urine test allows you to know exactly how long your body takes to eliminate these toxins before a medical check.

Does this device detect the same substances as the police and gendarmerie?

Absolutely. The Drugdiag T is calibrated to the official European cut-offs. It simultaneously targets the narcotics sought by the police and the gendarmerie (THC, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines), offering you professional-level reliability before getting behind the wheel.

How to avoid a false positive urine test?

The reliability of our diagnostic devices exceeds 99%. To eliminate any risk of false positives, carefully follow the instructions: dip the device in urine, wait 3 minutes, and read the result. The appearance of a single control line (C) without a test line (T) confirms a positive urine test.

Can CBD trigger a THC detection?

Yes, it is a well-known risk. Legal CBD contains tiny traces of THC which, when accumulated, can result in a positive test. Self-testing is essential to verify your fitness to drive or to anticipate a medical review for license reinstatement after a suspension.

Is it suitable for workplace screening?

Exactly. This multi-parameter kit is ideal for occupational physicians and employers looking to prevent risks. The rapid detection of benzodiazepines and synthetic drugs helps secure critical positions, in full compliance with the recommendations of the Labor Code.

French manufacturing and medical quality

Toda Pharma, a French manufacturer of drug screening tests, was one of the first European laboratories to develop a rapid serological test for coronavirus detection as early as February 2020 and was validated by the National Reference Center (CNR), the Pasteur Institute, and the French Ministry of Solidarity and Health.
