The Drugdiag Saliva THC 15 ng/mL saliva test is the reference cannabis screening device in France, manufactured in Strasbourg by the Toda Pharma laboratory. This saliva drug test is used daily by French law enforcement, the military, and companies as part of the Joana Plan for occupational risk prevention. Compliant with the decree of December 13, 2016, and certified CE and medical manufacturing quality ISO 13485, this saliva drug test delivers a reliable result in 5 minutes with a sensitivity of 15 ng/mL, identical to the regulatory devices used during road and professional checks.

The Drugdiag Saliva THC (Cannabis) saliva test allows immediate and non-invasive detection of tetrahydrocannabinol in saliva. It is designed to meet the needs of road safety professionals, HR managers, and individuals wishing to perform a preventive check before driving or for responsible personal use.

Main Uses of the THC Saliva Test

Road Safety – THC Screening

The Drugdiag Saliva THC 15 ng/mL saliva test provides reliable verification before driving after cannabis use. According to Article L235-1 of the Highway Code, driving under the influence of drugs, even without signs of impairment, is an offense. Penalties include an automatic 6-point deduction, a fine of up to €4,500, license suspension, and up to 2 years imprisonment. This saliva test helps prevent legal risks and accidents related to impaired alertness.

THC Testing in the Workplace

In accordance with Article L.4121-1 of the Labor Code, the employer must take all necessary measures to protect the health and safety of workers. In sectors where vigilance is crucial (operating machinery, working at heights, logistics, private security, industry), cannabis is one of the most commonly detected substances. This saliva test is perfectly suited to the Joana Plan, which strengthens drug testing obligations for positions considered to have security risks.

The use of the device must be provided for in the internal regulations and applied proportionally to the risks involved.

Individual Cannabis Self-Testing

The Drugdiag Saliva THC test allows for quick and confidential verification before a possible check, before driving again, or before performing an activity requiring sustained attention. It is an effective individual prevention solution to avoid legal and safety consequences related to cannabis use.

Essential information about CBD and test results

This saliva test does not detect pure cannabidiol (CBD). It reacts exclusively to the presence of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive molecule in cannabis responsible for intoxicating effects.

Warning: CBD products legally sold in France may contain residual traces of THC within the authorized limit of 0.3 percent. Regular consumption of such products can lead to THC accumulation in the body and result in a positive saliva test, even without experiencing psychoactive effects. This positive result can have legal consequences during roadside or professional checks.

THC detection duration in saliva

The detection window for THC in saliva directly depends on the frequency and intensity of use. The following data come from scientific studies and feedback from professionals using these devices.

Consumption profile Detection duration
Occasional 6 to 8 hours after last use
Regular Up to 24 hours after last use
Intensive Several days after last use

These durations are given for informational purposes only. Individual variations depend on many factors: metabolism, body mass index, hydration level, THC concentration in the consumed product, frequency of use, and length of consumption history.

Road Homicide & Law 2025: The Urgency of Prevention

Since July 2025, French legislation has changed. The creation of the offense of Road Homicide criminalizes bodily injury or fatal accidents with penalties of up to 10 years in prison.

Beware of the critical 9 POINTS threshold: The new law penalizes the combination of Alcohol + Drugs with an automatic deduction of 9 points. For a young driver, this means immediate license cancellation.

Toda Pharma’s response: Our tests are not just accessories. They are measurement tools calibrated to the legal threshold of 15 ng/mL (2016 Decree), allowing you to verify your actual negativity before getting behind the wheel and risking your legal future.

French manufacturing and medical quality

Toda Pharma, a French manufacturer of drug screening tests, was one of the first European laboratories to develop a rapid serological test for coronavirus detection as early as February 2020 and was validated by the National Reference Center (CNR), the Pasteur Institute, and the French Ministry of Solidarity and Health.

A study was conducted in 3 hospitals by different operators on 3 separate batches of each drug at concentrations of 0ng/ml, +/- 25%, and +/- 50% of the detection threshold for the drug in question. All results met expectations. The detailed tables of all results are available to users upon request.

Expert FAQ: Prevention & Risks

How long does THC remain detectable in saliva?

The detection time of THC in saliva varies depending on your habits. For an occasional smoker, expect 6 to 8 hours. For a regular user, it can last 24 hours or even several days. Buying a saliva test is the only way to know exactly how long it takes your body to eliminate the substance before driving.

Can CBD cause a positive saliva test?

Yes, it is a major risk. Legal CBD in France contains traces of THC (up to 0.3%). Frequent use accumulates these residues. During a police or gendarmerie check, this level can exceed the legal limit and cause your saliva test to be positive. Preventive self-testing is strongly recommended.

Is it exactly the same test as the police and the gendarmerie?

Absolutely. Our Drugdiag tests rigorously use the same detection threshold (15 ng/mL) as those set by the decree of December 13, 2016. These are the same thresholds used by law enforcement during roadside checks. They offer professional reliability certified to ISO 13485.

Are HHC, THCP, and other derivatives detected?

Yes. Screening devices cross-react with new synthetic molecules (HHC, H4CBD, THCP) because their structure is very close to classic cannabis. Driving under the influence of these derivatives exposes you to the same criminal penalties, especially since the tightening of the law on Road Homicide.

What to do if you have a positive saliva test at home?

If your self-test is positive, you are not fit to drive. Do not get behind the wheel to avoid losing 6 points and having your license suspended. Wait a few hours, stay hydrated, and take another test to confirm that you are below the legal limit again.
