Connected operationDevice, immediate signal and mobile identification
Operational information within seconds
B-SAFE combines a miniaturized sensor, electronic reading and a mobile app. The team quickly obtains actionable information to protect the person, isolate the drink or sample and apply the planned protocol.
Rapid analysis
The device provides an indication within a few seconds.
Mobile identification
The app displays the recognized substance or family and the associated information.
Structured response
The result helps teams act immediately and in a coordinated manner.
Drinks and unknown substancesTwo complementary professional uses
Analyze a suspicious drink or sample
B-SAFE is designed to analyze suspicious drinks. In a professional setting, it can also be used to identify an unknown sample dissolved according to the LUEUR protocol.
Drinks
Bars, clubs, festivals, student parties, events and establishments open to the public.
Unknown samples
Powder, tablet or suspicious material dissolved by a trained professional.
Cutting agents
The app can flag certain compounds recognized by the active database.
Detection spectrumMore than 30 substances or families covered
An evolving multi-substance coverage
The B-SAFE database covers more than 30 substances or families that may be encountered in a drink or suspicious sample. Updates progressively enhance the system’s identification capabilities.

What to doAct quickly when faced with a suspicious drink
A clear protocol to protect the person
In the event of symptoms or danger
Do not leave the person alone. Stop consumption, keep the drink or sample when this can be done safely, immediately alert the appropriate team and call 15 or 112 in case of discomfort, unusual drowsiness, confusion or loss of consciousness.
Frequently asked questionsUses, application and deployment
B-SAFE FAQ
Who is B-SAFE intended for?
Bars, clubs, festivals, student unions, local authorities, establishments open to the public, security teams, law enforcement and prevention professionals.
Does the application identify the substance?
Yes, when the substance or family is recognized by the active database, the application displays the available identification.
Can a powder or tablet be analyzed?
Yes, in a professional setting, after a minimal sample has been dissolved according to the LUEUR protocol.
How long does it take?
The analysis generally provides an indication in less than 30 seconds.

Good to know
Chemical submission remains a concrete prevention challenge
In France, the national survey Chemical submission 2023 the Addictovigilance network, under the supervision of the ANSM, records 1,056 reports of assaults facilitated by substances.
Festive venues are among the most frequently mentioned settings, and among adults, the Alcoholic beverage is the main suspected vector in likely cases.
B-SAFE fits within this approach : provide field teams with a quick verification method to trigger the right protective responses earlier.
Data from national Addictovigilance / ANSM studies and French toxicological references.

Operational protocol: From suspicion to securing safety
B-SAFE does not replace medical intervention or certified toxicological analysis. Its role is to provide nightlife and security professionals with a tool for immediate doubt removal, facilitating the initiation of a pre-established emergency protocol.
Festive venues and public buildings Integration into the security system
B-SAFE is designed for complex environments (low lighting, high public flow). It integrates directly into the establishment's Harm Reduction (HR) policy:
- Check a suspected drink without unnecessarily alerting the group.
- Create an identified checkpoint ("Safe Point") at the bar or security desk.
- Empower and equip security teams, bartenders, and mediators.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment from the establishment to protecting its customers.
Freeze the situation and alert Backup chain and evidence preservation
In the event of a reactive B-SAFE test, the establishment's protocol must shift from prevention to emergency. Protecting the individual is the top priority.
- Stopping consumption: Isolate and preserve the suspicious drink (material evidence gel for investigators).
- Securing the victim: Never leave her alone, keep her away from danger without taking her out of the facility.
- Alert trigger: Contact the management or the head of security.
- Call for help: Contact emergency medical services immediately (15) or 112 in case of altered consciousness (drowsiness, disorientation).
Decision support Staff autonomy and responsiveness
Often at a loss when faced with atypical behaviors (intoxication or chemical submission?), security agents and first responders find in the B-SAFE a powerful tool for objective assessment.
- Eliminate doubt in the face of a user complaint.
- Speeds up decision-making before the victim's clinical condition worsens.
- Streamline emergency response by providing them with a precise preliminary indication.
- Legally protects staff by justifying a rapid intervention.
Liability and Limits Screening vs Clinical Diagnosis
The B-SAFE is an environmental alert device, not a medical device. It does not exempt the organizer from their overall monitoring obligation.
- No legal value: Only a blood or urine test validated by the forensic department can certify chemical submission in court.
- Priority to the clinic: Even with a negative B-SAFE test, any unexplained discomfort or loss of consciousness requires an immediate call for emergency assistance.
- Continuing education: The tool only makes sense if it is operated by personnel trained in the public assistance and security protocol.
Deployment of B-SAFE
How to integrate it into an ERP security protocol?
B-SAFE must be centralized (main bar or Security PC) and operated by designated personnel. Its use must be subject to a written instruction linked to the establishment's Single Risk Assessment Document (DUERP).
What is the actual lifespan at a festival?
Designed for events, the sensor offers up to 5,000 measurements. It is washable and immediately reusable, allowing it to handle multiple suspicions during the same evening without needing additional consumables.
Is the mobile app mandatory?
The device emits an independent light signal allowing for an immediate emergency response. The mobile app (connected via Bluetooth) acts as a secondary tool to refine the substance interpretation and record the alert.
Is the test affected by alcohol?
No, the analysis algorithm embedded in LUEUR technology is designed to isolate incapacitating agents (sedatives, hypnotics) without being confused by the various components of alcohol or the sugars present in the drink.
