Frequently Asked Questions about Saliva, Urine Screening Tests, and Breathalyzers
Ama Prevention Expertise Center
All the technical, legal, and human answers for controlled prevention in 2025.
🚔 Road Safety & Controls
What are the official detection thresholds for saliva tests?
To comply with police and gendarmerie controls, our tests detect molecules according to legal thresholds:
- Cannabis (THC): 15 ng/ml
- Cocaine: 10 ng/ml
- Opiates: 10 ng/ml
- Amphetamines: 50 ng/ml
- Methamphetamines (MDMA): 50 ng/ml
Can you test positive from "passive smoking" (others' smoke)?
This is a common concern. However, the thresholds at 15 ng/ml are calculated to avoid "false positives" related to simple passive exposure. To test positive, direct inhalation or ingestion of the substance is required.
Road Homicide Law 2025: what is changing?
In case of a fatal accident with the presence of narcotics, the penalty is now harsher under the qualification "Road Homicide," with automatic license cancellation. Preventive self-testing is more than ever a safety reflex.
👷 Professional Environment & HR
Work accident and drugs: who is responsible?
The employer risks a conviction for Inexcusable Fault if prevention measures are not implemented. The employee risks dismissal for gross misconduct. The DUERP must imperatively include these risks.
🍹 Chemical Submission & Nightlife
I have doubts after a "blackout": what are the emergency reflexes?
Time is crucial because substances disappear quickly (a few hours for blood, 8 to 12h for urine).
Do not urinate before arriving at the emergency room. Call immediately 15 (SAMU) or 17 (Police).
If you cannot speak, use 114 (SMS).
Who can I turn to for expertise and support?
There are specialized organizations to help you through this ordeal:
- The CRAFS: For expert medical and toxicological follow-up, visit the CRAFS (Reference Center for Addictovigilance) website.
- M'endors pas: For victim support and awareness, contact the association M'endors pas.
- Women Rape Information: Call 0 800 05 95 95 for anonymous and free support.
Is only GHB used for chemical submission?
No. The CRAFS network indicates that many molecules are used: benzodiazepines, antihistamines, or neuroleptics. Demand a rapid biological sample for broad toxicological analysis, not just a GHB test.
What to do if the time limits for urine and blood are exceeded?
Hair analysis remains the solution. A strand taken 4 to 6 weeks after the event can reveal the presence of drugs administered occasionally, where blood and urine no longer show traces.
🔬 CBD, New Drugs & Reliability
Why can CBD cause a positive THC result?
Legal CBD often contains traces of THC (up to 0.3%). These traces can accumulate and trigger a positive test at the 15 ng/ml threshold. For a driver, this is a major administrative risk.
Do the tests detect synthetic drugs (3-MMC, Xylazine)?
Standard tests do not detect them. Specific tests like our urinary formats Drugdiag® 4T to 12T must be used to detect these NDS (New Synthetic Drugs).
